James Denton, most recently known as “the plumber” on Desperate Housewives, began acting after a brief career in advertising. His first role as “George Gibbs” in a community theater production of “Our Town” began a long and varied theater resume, from roles like Stanley Kowalski in “A Streetcar Named Desire” to composing music for a Chicago theater company. After being named one of “Chicago’s 10 Hottest Actors” in 1995, Jamie moved to LA and appeared in the feature films “Face Off”, “That Old Feeling” and “Primary Colors”. Then began a string of television guest star appearances including The West Wing, Ally McBeal, and recurring roles on J.A.G., Reba, and The Drew Carey Show.

Denton was a series regular for three seasons on “The Pretender” and on the ABC shows “Threat Matrix” and Steven Bochco drama “Philly”. During his last hiatus from “Housewives”, Jamie teamed up with Chris Kattan in the crazy zombie western film, “Undead or Alive”. Within three months of the premiere episode of “Desperate Housewives,” Jamie was included in People Magazine”s 2004 “Sexiest Men Alive” issue. He has supported numerous animal rescue efforts and dedicates much of his charity effort toward protecting the environment. Jamie continues to lend his name and contribute his time to other causes close to his heart and resides in Southern California with his wife and two children.
